I know, I know, he got fired in the spring, but he was coaching at one of the most challenging stops in major conference basketball. Nebraska is where coaches go to die. He had great success before that, working his way up from small-time basketball to the Big Ten.
He has stated on record that ND is his "dream job." There was an article a couple months back where the writer had followed him around for a few days. He was interviewing for a job, but still living in Lincoln and relaxed, in a good state of mind. He mentioned that on the last day he might go home and "watch the ND football game with my dad."
Just sayin'. The ND basketball head coaching post isn't exactly a craved job and they could do a lot worse.
