He's supposed to announce his decision this week. We'll see. Everyone seems to think it's between Michigan and ND, and, overwhelmingly, people are picking Michigan. I will stick with ND. If this were a lock, he wouldn't have dragged it out this long, and ND has been on him the longest.
He has spoon fed that kid for 3 years ..Howard just showed up 15 seconds ago and got him... Michigan is in way better shape as a program..even after coaching change...the practice facility excuse was a mirage...it's like Kelly complaining about all his bullshit needs then in the end it changes nothing..still gets taught a lesson by the big boys...
Regardless when it happens, the next coach needs to be someone super-active on the recruiting front. People talk about, "Well, you can still get a graduate transfer," but how often do those guys step in and become dominant players, which is what ND needs immmediately?
much more active. This is just a kid choosing a program with the best chance at a NCAA title, an NBA career and on campus atmosphere. Plus his gf is at Michigan. I just don't know what took Dickinson soooo long to decide. That said, ND's basketball program is at best 2nd tier for......ever.
If you can cite for me a time in the past 20 years where recruiting wonks cited the superior activity of ND coaches, I'll give you a ten-spot. If you read ND Hoops Recruits at all, one of the consistent laments by the author is after a bunch of coaches show up for some game for a prized recruit that ND has offered and Brey and his staff are absent.
The reality is that this program is in for even more lean years, given what has happened with an 0-fer class, missing on important recruits and a sophomore class that was simply overrated. Honestly, this has the feeling of the mid-90s teams: overmatched, unathletic and having to settle for marginal recruits or recruits with holes in their games that need work.
