It's time for a change...
This could get much uglier. ND could be sitting at like a 6-9 record at that point. I don't think Brey would step down during the season. I think there's a chance that Swarbrick could force his hand, albeit small.
I just want the five guys who will compete and hustle the most, regardless who they are. The effort level and intensity of the top seven aside from Wesley and possibly Goodwin, has been pathetic for this level of the game. I would be fine seeing what a lineup of Wesley, JR, Taylor, Zona, and Goodwin can do with extended minutes. I have a feeling JR will show more than seniors Hubb and Ryan as a true, underweight freshman. Atkinson will continue to struggle mightily when he faces ACC teams.
Things will likely spiral badly after that.
Having a totally non-competitive ND also lessens my interest in the rest of the college regular season.
And this is coming from someone who followed closely even during the wilderness years of MacLeod. Even his worst teams hustled more, a lot more, than this and last year's team. No excuse for a lack of effort and I know for sure that benchwarmers Zona and JR will not dog it out on the floor. I wish Carmody was able to play. He never dogs it, either.

Snakebitten. Some serious injuries and, really, hasn't played in a couple years, and very little game action since high school, and he's now a senior. Brey's comments before the season gave me the impression that he's not counting on Carmody to be a contributor at any point. I hope he can land somewhere and recover some of what he had. An A-10 school might be a nice fit.

What are we waiting for?
