be a major victory. This is the time. Their next game is on the road at Louisville, whose coach is a dead man walking. Six conference wins by the end of the season would be past most everyone's expectations. The most encouraging sign are the efforts given in these games and the improvements defensively. ND is in the top half of the conference defensively. The offense is often still disorganized, but has improved, in terms of running ball screens properly and taking advantages of mismatches.

I thought Tom Crean did a really good job analyzing the game, but I disagreed with his assessment that one day Davis will be a knockdown shooter. He won't. His offensive game needs to involve attacking the basket because he has a better handle and is quicker that most of the 6'8" guys who guard him. I don't want him chucking threes. His game is primarily outworking opponents for rebounds and being able to guard anyone on the floor, which is huge. ND hasn't had a guy like that in many years.
He's liable to be VERY good..
