Thoughts about our basketball team and its future.
The regular season is over. We knew it would be bad, and it was (13-20), but there were a few rays of hope. Burton exceeded all expectations and was ROY. Shrewsberry had his moments and, along with Burton, gives us a backcourt for the future, since they are both freshmen.
The team played better in the final stretch. Yesterday's game showed how unproductive our frontcourt is. There is no scoring punch. Help is really needed there. We need to go to the portal.
The recruits are promising, with Sir Muhammad being the star of the group.
Coach Shrewsberry did a good job overall, so if he can get a quick fix on the frontcourt, we should continue to improve next year.

Our women are on a trajectory toward being a perrenial power. Men's basketball in general is chaotic
One and done, NIL and the Portal have created a wild wild west environment.
I like the progress our men made at the end of the season... but it's tough to foresee any particular future.
I agree on Men's program
Future is still unclear, even with improvement at the end of the season. Decent recruiting class coming in next season, but realistically. 500 in league is the ceiling. Shrewsbury will need to lure high level players to ND.

Does it appear to you that Ivey is going to focus on pool? She has only one recruit for next year albeit a good one
Our women have a lot coming back, including several who were out due to injuries.
We landed the best in terms of need.
My guess is that will be portal talent lined up as well.
