Pundits argue this is the result of NIL because the Mid Major players who succeed in their first season get bought out by the big four powerhouses.
If this trend persists March Madness is in trouble because it’s been in the first week that the magic upsets always happened.
Does ND have a “robust” NIL program in hoops?

Good luck…but think the appeal will die.

Not seeing quite the same proliferation of pools or attendance in bars for games round these parts.
I'll accept it's just me. Just sayin' what I'm seein' here...
(You think as all the stars in the tournament each year...hit the portal and leave for the same 25 - 30 power conference teams, this will bode well for Tournament interest? Good luck with that...for other than the fans of those specific teams...)
An all chalk diet does not seem like it would be healthy for a tournament thst built it’s interest on Cinderellas.
College football and basketball off a cliff.
You may get 10 years of certain college kids amassing significant money followed by an overall financial collapse.
In my view the model should have favored student athletes in college long long ago…and set up viable minor leagues for those with no interest or aptitude to pursue a college degree.
The current system is benefiting a few (many of whom will earn additional riches in the pros) at the expense of all…in my humble opinion of course.
