The holes in that gif are tremendous. Notice the opposing team. Hope to see that again in a couple of weeks.

They are replacing 3 of the five members of the line, including two in the first two rounds of the NFL draft. It may be that it's expected of Hiestand now to just plug and play at the same level. Hopefully they will, but let's see how the line meshes before calling them the best in the nation.
That article seems to have been the same article I read last season with just the dates changed and a bit of updating of the names.
As a side, nice selection of video. That video is a bit eerie in that it is of the play that ended Folson's season. The OL did dominate on that play though.

can handle being a C.
For example, they are bigger than ever:
LT Mike McGlinchey 6-7, 310, Senior - 4 star
LG Quenton Nelson 6-5, 325, Junior - 4 star
C Sam Mustipher 6-2, 310, Junior - 4 star
RG Colin McGovern 6-4, 315, Senior - 4 star
RT Alex Bars 6-6, 320, Junior - 4 star
The recruiting has been outstanding.
The position coaching is likely the best in the nation.
Folston and Adams are going to crush it.
I have drunk the Kool-Aid, but it doesn't matter. They are going to be great.
They even had to make some changes on the fly, after the season started. Ronnie Stanley, was really good pretty quickly, but the rest of the line took a while and did not get fully settled until 2015 when Nelson and McGlinchey were inserted. 2016 is a similar scenario. McGlinchey and Nelson should be terrific, but we won't know about the rest until they actually play. Like I wrote, I think they will be solid, but we just don't know how long they will take to get there.
They don't have much time to gel.
I think the battle between McGovern and Hoge was really to just allow the battle to occur, not because there's a weakness at that position. Sounds like McGovern is hitting all of his assignments and will step in positionally and not make frequent mistakes. Bars looks to me to be outstanding. Which brings me back to Mustipher and whether he can handle all the assignments of a center.
I'm more positive than you and think by the end of the year this group will be talked about as special.
Yummy kool-aid.
You're more positive than me? I'm not being positive because I state that it is too early to call this line the best in the country? Uhm OK.
They replaced 3/5 of the line and haven't played a down together yet, but someone claims they are the best line in college football. Then you drink the kool-aid and run with it. I wrote several times that I expect them to be good too, but I choose to wait till they show it on the field before I hang that label on them. Even you are hedging now and writing by the end of the season they will be special. I don't disagree with that.
Being objective does not mean one is not being positive.
