I have a lot of respect for Phil, and I know it's at night at Texas.

Think Coach Kelly is up to the task?
We should beat these guys solidly in their house in front of their fans. No excuses.
That would require both great coaching and great recruiting...they've had neither recently
They beat Oklahoma and Baylor. Plus they outplayed Okie State and lost only due to some horrific officiating. There is some good talent there, and Strong is a good coach.
2004: ND Total Yards: 300 and 16 first downs.
2005: ND 417 total yards; and 28 first downs.
Let's face it, if there was replay in that game, the ball for Leinhart would have been spotted differently on that final play and ND could have/should have won that game. Basically won in every other statistical category and outplayed SC. All of this was accomplished with the same cast of characters from the year before.
I expect to win this football game but I like Phil Steele, expect it to be tight and win in similar fashion that USC won in 2005.

A USC victory over Bama would help ND's strength of schedule.

At least, that's what it looks like from outside the program. Neither QB sounds happy. Arrests. Overall negative vibe.
Hopefully, the players will circle the wagons & prove him wrong.
Get that shit outta here. The lads will rally around whoever is under center and will kick some TX-sized ass.......period.
Btw, did you really use the term "The lads"?! Really?

Might be the reason for Steele's prediction.
If they don't, something is very wrong with them.
Fuck Texas.
That would truly dampen any preseason excitement; to start the season with a loss. 0-1 stings.
That would make for a long year of ND football to be out of the playoffs by week 3
I've managed to get myself worried about the 'Horns. Hope it is just fan jitters.
