The president needs to step down: he chooses the athletic director. Reverend John Jenkins needs to step aside and allow the vice president, Mr Affeck-graves to take command and choose a new athletic director.

Hired the hottest coach in football, Brian Kelly. Like him or not, it was an impressive hire.
ACC deal.
Under Armour Deal.
Renewed NBC deal through 2025.
Kept ND in the playoff eligibility without having to join a conference.
Crossroads project.
Helping bridging the gap between football and the university. Whether he's done the right thing or not, Kelly has more control than any coach since Lou.
New hockey arena.
Others sports are excelling.
And...that's about it. Angry ramblings.

an extension to a failed HC.
Dont know if you've been paying attention, but the ND athletic dept, is in fine footing..We may not like it, but I think the days of evaluating the ND AD , just based on the success/failure of the football program are over..Men's basketball coming off two elite 8s, women's basketball a perennial national title contender, success in many at other sports, top 10 in Sears cup standings 2 years in row..all go to his leadership, in eyes of the adm..And, while we are all dissatisfied with the football program, in the eyes of the admin , they went to a major bowl 2 of last 4 years including a national title game appearance..All this while coming in no. 1 in graduation rates..
To speculate on JS's job security is pure folly; he'll leave of his own volition only, when he's ready to move on..And as a lawyer, he's helping ND navigate thru the ever changing landscape of intercollegiate athletics..Posting he needs to go is coming from internet warriors on the various message boards only..
I do not care about womens' sports or mens' soccer and realistically the general public doesn't care either. It is nice when all those teams win and I congratulate them if they do but i do not lose sleep over them. Well, maybe men's basketball too and very slightly women's basketball.
I'm in agreement on men's basketball, and women's as you stated..But it doesn't mean the admin feels that way..Prior to this disaster, the admin felt the football program was in very good shape; many of us did too..My point, JS is not in any way shape of form, in trouble with the admin..as many here and other message boards would like..
good luck to your Cubs.
This is totally assinine. He got the best coach available in 2009. Did that coach do as well as hoped? No. But that doesnt mean he failed. The Swarbrick talk is a total joke.
Hate on Kelly all you want, but the Swarbrick talk is an embarassment.
my guest is that he is judged in FB by the amount of money he s taken in and not by the success or failure of the program.
he gave a lucrative extension to a failed HC
Notwithstanding this is a horrendous year, Brian Kelly was 55-23 coming in, an undefeated regular season, 6 bowls, albeit 4 minor..After Weis, and Willingham, the admin is not going to consider that a failed HC..And ND doesn't react to one bad season, if they did, Messrs Faust, Davie, Willingham, Weis would have been fired long before their tenure ended..And money has continued to pour into the program in record numbers..Brian Kelly's job is not in jeopardy according to signals coming from admin; to think JS's job is in jeopardy is beyond comprehension..
