1) No need to recruit
2) special teams are non-existent
3) hire a good d-coordinator and leave him alone
4)chuck it 45-50 times a game. Everyone else does.
5)Most fans hate all their football coaches in the pros. Kelly would be an ideal fit.
6) No speech making or traveling to school club related activities. Charlie and Kelly hate this.
I think most coaches would much rather have a pro gig than a college one but job security is a huge issue. You do not last long if you do not win.

Just from a game management standpoint he is sorely lacking. The two point conversion mistakes he's made numerous times at Notre Dame would get him crushed in the NFL. Notre Dame has been pretty poor on the margins throughout Kelly's era here as well, in other words they aren't good at the little things. The NFL is all about being good at the little things because the talent gap is so small.
If he can't succeed here then he needs a demotion to a lower level not a promotion to the highest level.
He isnt ideally suited for Top Level Div 1 football nor the NFL
He is another in a long line of mediocre ND coaches
hence the 23 years of mediocrity
Ty would have then gotten shellacked in the bowl...like he did anyway.
Kelly is better than Ty...but that's not saying much.
You might be right. I am looking at Kelly from purely coaching the offense. Praying that Cincy is dumb enough to take a chance on him. I remember Abe Gibron and Rich Kotite from back in the day.Is those two could get a head coaching job, anyone can.

Not sure the pros are that interested in him even now...
He'd hire a former DB coach from Grand Valley State.
