I particularly liked the mention of Claypool potentially playing defense. I've been saying for a long time that I think Claypool could be a holy terror of a pass rusher.
The idea of Love as a starting safety if he bulks up is intriguing as well. Depth at safety is paper thin if/when Tranquil moves to the ROVER position.
Good stuff as usual from Hansen.

At CB we have Vaughn and Watkins and hopefully Crawford will be back (not to mention Troy Pride). That's 3-4 talented guys at CB. Conversely we really only have 1 legit safety in Studstill.
Also in Elko's defense the safeties are more intergangeable (not a FS and SS). Both guys need to be able to cover the deep middle...I don't think Tranquill can do that.

He is still lanky and lean. Think he could bulk up into a rush end eventually.
The rover spot is probably perfect, but agree he could play stand up WDE. 2 positions not present in BVG's defense.
Still blows my mind that Kelly let him back in 2016 after not being able to field a competitive defense with all of the stars he had in 2015.

Is there another defense or another coordinator that plays him over Morgan in 2015?
