I think most ND fans wouldn't give a rat's ass about any of this stuff from an ND coach who was winning
Dabo is not a conscious person... introspection would drive any football coach mad.

Any article is well on its way to being insipid when it employs some celebrity/hero/villain as a symbol of what's wrong/right with society/football/the world. The person invariably is too insignificant to carry the metaphor.
I know nothing about Dabo Swinney, but I think it's safe to assume he's a very good football coach, which is what his employer is paying him to be.
It is obvious that big school college football is pretty much a sham. But, then, I am of the mind that pretty much all of contemporary public life is like a medieval tableaux played out to distract the masses. To single out one poor bastard as a "symbol" of all things good or evil is nothing more than fun for the feeble-minded.
"Overwought" is the default tone for media "think" pieces, and has been for some years now, I think.
