Five-star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown said USC has moved way up in his recruitment especially after the Trojans played so well down the stretch this season and won the Rose Bowl.
Before that, the Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei standout wasn’t so sure. Now, he is.
“USC is huge for me now,” St. Brown said. “Coming off a big season with the new quarterback, USC at first wasn’t really a top for me but now USC is really up there now.”
UCLA is still a major player but St. Brown needs to get to know new wide receivers coach Jimmie Dougherty after Eric Yarber, one of St. Brown’s favorites, left for the Los Angeles Rams.
A visit to Alabama is being strongly considered and St. Brown also wants to get to Ohio State this summer. Stanford is also a serious contender and Notre Dame is as well since he has brothers playing at both schools.
West coast lean.
re-stocking WRs fast
These are intelligent kids. He knows ND is a dumpster fire right now. I'd bet EQ is telling him "look elsewhere."
Why wouldn't he? He was the number 1 WR on the team as a true soph, and with another great year in 2017 ND has positioned him well for the draft.
The only thing that has temporarily set ND back with Amon Ra is Denbrock leaving. Apparently both he and EQ were very close with Denbrock. Assuming EQ gets along well with Alexander, and ND has a good year...then I think they will regain the lead spot.
with no QB at all beyond Chosen and a first rate (almost Pete Carroll level) douchebag loser for a coach
Pretty amazing that EQ's stay away message hasn't resonated with any of them.

And no one knows if EQ loves anything right now.

Barring some amazing development by one of the sophomores, or some miraculous emergence by one of the freshmen, EQ is going to be our #1 guy at WR, and will be catching a lot of balls.
It's not going to be like 2016, when we really didn't have a #1, experienced, go-to receiver.

The good news about that is he's impressed with young quarterback play it seems. He'd likely be able to play with Wimbush in 2018, not as likely with Darnold.
I big season from Wimbush puts us in the thick of it.

He will be finishing his jr year academically. He can ente the draft with a big year.
It would take an insane, almost unprecedented season to leave for the NFL. I think Wimbush can be a great QB for Notre Dame but will be shocked if he isnt the starter in 2018.
We are going 11-0 and he will win the Heisman!
I'd think for a guy to move on who doesn't possess the ideal quarterback body type and only one season of real action, he'd have to have an incredible year. Like a Heisman trophy, national championship, etc. He can't just have a "big season".
The guy has hardly even played and as usual folks here are annointing him the chosen one. We have such a legacy of NFL QBs it's a natural conclusion right (Check sarcasm meter)
In fact, I'd say it is doubtful. He'd have only one year under his belt. And he doesn't exactly have all the measurable that had NFL scouts salivating as with Kizer (I'm talking about height, specifically).
