He was running with the first team receivers today and was allegedly untacklable (not a word) in 1-1 tackling drills.
For some reason people don't realize yet that he'll be an All-American this year.
that would have gone for TD in mop up.

If he has the work ethic and the right coaching, I see no reason why he can't become a sure-handed receiver. After all, Maurice Stovall went from "Stone hands Stovall" to one of our best receivers of all time in a single off season.
Stovall and Samardzija were not elite receivers until Weis came into town. For all of his faults, he produced some of the best wide receivers Notre Dame has ever seen.
It was a nearly miraculous catch. Not a drop by any means.
He's a mismatch a WR...not at LB. He could definitely PLAY LB or even S but he's a freak at WR.
Freakish players are the kinds of players that make Bowl-caliber teams....playoff/NC contenders.
AA status for him this year...seems a bit of stretch, considering the talent at WR but not farfetched.
He a EQ on the field at the same time with Stepherson or Sanders sandwiched between could be deadly.
But you're right. Possibly the fastest LB in school history wouldn't be a mismatch, and playing next to Morgan couldn't possibly get this team into the Playoff.
Give the Cliff Clavin routine a rest.
Yea a 6-5 225 would look freakish next to Martini at 6-4 240 and Jamir Jones at 6-3 240. What are you thinking??
6-5 225 being guarded by 5-10 180 IS FREAKISH.
And Claypool being the fastest LB in school history is asinine on two levels.
First...How much faster is Claypool compared to Jaylon? Do you recall how fast Courtney Watson was? Former HS WR/RB who was among the top 3 LBs at the nfl combine in 2004. Do you recall how fast Rocky Boiman was? Another 4.5 40 guy...
Not to mention several WR/RB fast LBs who played under Holtz.
With alllll that being said...Claypool could still be as fast as any of them but you think he would instanlty know how to play LB as well as any of them right? Or you think it would only take a year for him to figure it out? Cause he played LB 5 or 6 plays a game in HS. Did you watch his HS tape?
He was a WR and a free roaming Safety 95% of the time. So lets ask him to gain another 20lbs and wish it translates...yet were watching that he's dangerous with the ball in his hands on offense. He looked fluid on the field last year.
Playing next to Morgan...So he's gonna get this all figured out over a spring and summer plus the 20lbs? And unseat Bilal or Martini? You serious? Did you recall how long it took Onuwalu to get settled in?
Cliff Clavin...You keep up your Woody routine..it suits you.
