Link: Ian Book It: Notre Dame Has Legit Quarterback Depth
on't think ND has lacked for QB depth since Crist left. Keep in mind, Kizer wasn't even supposed to play 2 years ago, and he turned Zaire into Wally Pipp.
I don't think you are being fair to him. I don't see how he was recruited as a backup. If we are doing that (intentionally punting on the QB position every other year), then we need to stop that. I thought Book was a 4 star.

As a comparison Kizer was rated a 94, Zaire 90, Golson 91.
Their composite rating on Jackson was lower, but that combines all the ratings from all the major sites.
ESPN is pretty hacky, they had Will Fuller as the worst player in the Notre Dame class in 2013.
Which does average out ratings from a variety of services, and which left him as a composite 3 star recruit according to 247. It wasn't just ESPN that brought down his average. Scout also had him as a three star. Jackson's composite score wasn't much higher than Book's. Something like 87 - 86.
Just wanted to make the distinction. Your point is taken, Jackson was not the five star player DeShaun Watson was.
I believe Jackson had a .8788 rating while Book had a .8581, something like that, so not much difference.
