The article in the SB trib claiming that it was basically the same is bullshit. I think the demand must be in free fall, or at least significantly off. And the University's attempt to spin the new system--it will produce roughly similar results as the lottery--seems disingenuous. In the past, I could/would apply for the right to "win" tickets, usually putting in for several games in the hopes of winning the ones I wanted and trading the others for the ones I wanted. But this year, I could have bought tickets to every home game. Essentially could have purchased a season ticket for face value. If we don't start winning soon, the football games are going to be like the women's and men's non-major sports--friends, relatives, curious passers-by and the elderly or tired looking to sit down for a few.

I was hoping the stadium dynamics would change so that the bluehairs would be relegated to the suites. Since the ticket prices
are still ridiculous, only the rich and famous can afford them----which means more and more bluehairs and not less. They are offended
by those of us who cheer and yell loudly and sit there like bumps on a log and expect ND touchdowns on every play. Sure sounds like a real threatening place
to our opponents, right? Bullshit.

haven't been to a game in 6yrs and I only live 35 miles from campus. used to go to every game. one of the reasons I quit going was because I was constantly asked to sit down and be quiet. I couldn't take it anymore. now I stand and scream at home and I don't miss not being there one bit!!

The rest of us should be grateful to get shitty seats for shitty games for $45.
