After constant bitching about Davie's, Weis', and Kelly's contract extensions over the years this behavior is sadly par for the course.
Also, I completely agree with you. I will acknowledge PSU was a solid team last year, but in 2014 their wins came against UCF, Akron, Rutgers, UMASS, Indiana, Temple, and a cruddy BC team. In 2015 they beat Buffalo, Rutgers, SDSU, Army, Indiana, Maryland, and Illinois.
We will see if he was cleaning up after the sanctions mess, or just another fraud who parlays one solid season into something special.

Not only did White and the ND administration fold because of the ludicrous idea floated by Weis's agent that he would leave for the NFL without the extension, but the ND lawyers should have been sued for malpractice. They actually drew up the extension agreement without any "offset clause" to cover the buyout. In most buyouts of this type, there is always an offset clause. Thus when Charlie coached Kansas, his Kansas salary should have been applied in whole or in part toward the buyout. Instead, Charlie got the full Kansas salary plus the full yearly buyout amount.
Notre Dame came off looking like the hick who came into town on the turnip wagon and then ran into the city slicker. The city slicker walks away with the Hick's money and the Hick is left with a handful of magic beans.
