take down Notre Dame.
No 1. Georgia They are going to stay there until somebody beats them.
No 2. Alabama I'm not a complete fool
No.3 Clemson They are in the ACC and so are we (kind of)
No.4 USC If we can beat them, we should be better rewarded.
No. 5 Oklahoma Beat OSU
No. 6 TCU Beat OSU
No. 7 PSU How lucky can you get?
No. 8 Virginia Tech See No. 3
No. 9 Michigan Most over-rated team in the country. Big fall when they get beat.
No. 10 Anybody else Whose to say it isn't ND?
Everyone hates Notre Dame right?
I'm assuming this must be based on last year's season? What have they done that is impressive? Run the score up on Akron and Georgia State? Struggle to barely beat Iowa? The polls are becoming more and more of a joke with each passing season.

Look at Alabama, they killed FSU and Vandy. Oklahoma drilled OSU. Clemson beat Louisville. These are impressive early season wins that warrant a top 5 spot. PSU has done nothing impressive. Shit, Georgia looks like they deserve a top 5 spot over PSU.
the beginning of Oct. First, it would help to weed out the "opinions" on which teams are supposedly good or bad and then given undeserved rankings. Second, the play on the field would then warrant getting credit or lack there of. What a novel idea. No way on earth FSU then gets put in top 25 after being 0-2. Unfortunately, with the system we have now, they are "very slowly" (lol) working their way down from top 7 or so status. Likewise for ND trying to move up from no mans land.....you can also make the same argument for the heisman. They try to announce a freaking leader or projected winner before most of the dang season is played. Ridiculous
Never could understand the bias in polls. Here we are, 3-1, and our only loss was by 1 point with 3 minutes left in the game against the now #7 team in the country. Meanwhile, Mississippi State gets crushed by them and hangs on at 24. Go figure that SEC basis.
the bowl games we beat a real good, tough Texas A&M team in the Cotton Bowl and we finished number 2 in the writers poll which was bad enough but do you know the coaches voted us number 3 that year. What a joke. By the way we had a lot of coaches vote us number 1 that year as did a lot of writers. Roy Slocum, who we beat in the bowl that year voted us number 1. We played the toughest schedule that year and beat the most ranked teams but somehow the coaches poll had us number 3.
the one poll put ND at #3 after beating #1 Colorado in the OB. They made FSU #2 behind Miami(Fla)
Don't you remember how after ND beat FSU in the "game of the century" we assumed that we would be paired with Nebraska in the Orange bowl. Nebraska was undefeated. Immediately Bowden started politicking for a "rematch" in the Orange Bowl for the title. And the pollsters kept Nebraska at #3 the week leading up to the BC game. I still wonder to this day had ND beat BC, would the Irish have been paired with Nebraska in the OB. I think ND would have had to play FSU again just to get the title. It was so obvious that the writers and coaches wanted Bowden to get his 1st title that had been so elusive to him up until that point.
FSU also beat more ranked teams that year, so that is incorrect as well.
That being said, ND should have been #1 based upon head to head. But that point has been beaten to death

It was so obvious that it was an anti-Holtz thing. Most of his peers could not stand him.
about the ranked teams but I know one year in that era, maybe it was 89, we played the most ranked teams.
