Was his big arm. Often times big arm QBs have a hard time dialing it down for everything else below a deep ball or deep in/deep out. Brandon in 2 years hasn't gotten comfortable at all throwing short and intermediate throws. He's thinking wayyyy too much and the ball is sailing or dying. As it stands now, I think if Jurko does sign he'll be the starter come game one 2018. His arm looks much more natural and the ball comes out easy. In this offense, arms like Rees are actually better suited than a Wimbush. Kizer's arm was perfectly suited for this offense but his development slipped because BK put everything on him to make the play vs letting the supporting talent do that.
Wimbush is a talented athlete but he's not a spread-offense QB in BK's system. Ian Book might be a good backup and Avery Davis could be slightly better or worse but not certain he's the starter type. Jurko is just HS senior so I'm not going to anoint him anything but QBs nowadays coming out of HS aren't like they were even 10yrs ago. Watching QBs with similar releases to Jurko's it really makes this offense move because it's like a long hand off if the ball gets to the WR quickly and it's just a one-on-one situation. if the ball takes a half sec longer to get out it gets dangerous and for some reason BWs quick throws just take a bit too long. Sometimes its the stupid PA fake that isnt really necessary other times it's his wind up. And them sailing isn't going to lure new talent to want to play at ND. He's got a few guys hurt this year.
I really, really hope Wimbush figures out his mechanics to get these simple throws out naturally...just have a feeling it might be too late. Not sure if Jurko is going to be an early enrollee but if he is...B-Dub is going to have a fight on his hands. He may no matter when PJ enrolls...
Great post!!!

He just cannot throw a football. It looks like his grip on the ball could use some adjusting. He throws lots of wounded ducks. He has been in the system for three years now. Recruiting some better receivers would help.
have quick twitch don't play.
And he makes his best plays because of his quick twitch athleticism. He needs to become a better passer.

The player's are still too slow compared to the top teams. Recruiting needs to improve big time. These players are just not good enough. As long as they want academic players, they will have a hard time competing with the big boys.

After the Wake game in which he threw for 280 yards,I believed he had taken a big step forward..Never seen such a drop off in performance... Having Canteen and Smith on the roster was a waste and impeded the development of other receivers... Kelly keeps Steph off the field,ESB sulks, Mack case of the drops, pass plays take forever to develop...After the USC game I was sure team was CFP bound... Take it out on Stanford...ND has lost last 4 trips to Stanford... This year ND wins...
