I recall when he complained about our weight training after EQ's freshman year. I thought he was over the top like Lavar Ball Turns out he was right.
We did have a weight training problem.
All his kids gave ND a fair shot. He never tried to use his kids to force his will on a coach's decision.
He would have been a fixture at every game.
He would have been interviewed by NBC at every game.
He would have demanded the firing of Kelly and the benching of Wimbush, publicly.
He would have been the one who announced EQ was leaving, instead of EQ, and denounced Notre Dame for EQ's 6th round selection.
He would have withdrawn Amon-Ra from considering Notre Dame.
Amongst other things.
The way that they are similar is they both have three sons who were high school stars. And they both have a business related to their sons success and their sons promote for it. That's really it.
His methods worked out great on Todd, didn't they?
for a sport.

He just doesn't buy into the college football hype. ND, Stanford, USC. He clearly wants a quality brand program for his sons, but he is not overly invested in any program which probably bothers some fans at all 3 places.
With a smile, “it is their decision”
Amen
The youngest brother played at Mater Dei with a 5 star QB that is going with him to USC.
5+ years ago, my son played against JT Daniels in travel sports. Since then, JT has been held back twice. He is like an 18 year old Junior, skipped his last year of HS.
He is 1 hell of an athlete.
If JT committed to ND,
The brother WR may be with him.
ND offered JT as a freshman in High school.
Go irish!
I have known him for about 5 years.
I have friends that have been his friend for 10 years +
I was told all 3 of his sons speak 3 languages.
I also know Equinameous.
He may have graduated ND in 3 years? Not sure.
I was with another friend 2 week’s back that has
Known John for 10+ years. He told me his sons may have taken the ACT SAT college prep exams in
More than 1 language.
John is a good man and a great father.
does he actually believe his son can play in nfl right now ? if so.. he has some lavar ball in him.. his son appears to be a great player at 18 years old... he cant play in the nfl right now ... in 2 years.. I would believe that statement much more
Nice headline though, even if it's completely false
