Just watched the highlights on YouTube. Of course, we don't have a Saquon Barkley at RB but there are two interesting nuggets:
1. McSorley killed UM running the ball up the gut after a play action fake. UM didn't have an answer to this play all night.
2. Penn St. was very effective with long downfield passes to a 6'6" WR.
The takeaway here is that a running QB who also made some deep throws to a very tall WR who caught passes over the shorter DB's was the formula for success. We certainly have the personnel to do the same thing.
I've got to believe that Chip Long and Del Alexander have digested this film and will be designing our offensive strategy accordingly
