All Fall to practice, solid start to UM, failed to counter UM's adjustments after the half. Flat against Ball State, hung on for a win. Another week of practice to correct flaws. Another weak effort will be telling. On the other hand, a solid performance will also be telling.
routes in the passing game. Get the ball out of BWs hands quickly and ‘mindlessly’. Just catch the snap and throw it - don’t think, just throw. We have the big body receivers to shield the ball from the DBs and they are physical enough to not get killed by tacklers. If Boykin and Claypool catch it on the run they can do some damage after the catch with their size and speed. Quick throws takes the pressure off the offensive line - all they need to do is cut block to get the D linemen’s hands down.
Obviously I’m no offensive coordinator but I am staying at a Holiday Inn Express tonight.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen a 3 step drop and quick pass. Think he needs a 7 step drop or rollout to be able to see the field.

I expect ND to struggle on offense. Unlike UM game, Vandy D will force BW to throw on every down. BW should have been picked off several more times during Ball St game. Too easy of an analysis for Vandy.

I hope the O line improves. I hope the special teams improve and I hope that a game plan is utilized that plays towards Wimbush's strengths as much as possible.
I don't believe you start to get a true read on a team until after the 4th game of the season....and Stanford, thereafter, will be the truly telling game because Shaw is a better coach than Kelly.
Hope the Irish keep it rolling and start to look more convincing while doing so.
