I can understand the ND power ranking at #26, but I can’t imagine how any neutral algorithm has Michigan at #12 after losing to ND and winning against two patsies

If we truly deserve to be ranked higher, then we have every opportunity to prove it.
If we can't do the job, then we don't deserve a decent ranking from Sagarin or anyone else.
They are still way skewed by big scores against shirty opponents at this point. So Michigan ' s blowout of the directional school loo.s large. By game 7, the fact that the directional school blows becomes a bigger factor.
His rankings are a joke, always have been. He had the Florida State ahead of the Irish the week after the 1993 game. At the end of the 1988 season he had Miami ahead of the Irish. The Irish won the head to head and had a tougher schedule and a better record.
everything. Ara used to say that statistics don't mean everything but they do give you an idea of relative strengths. It does not mean who might be the better team in a head to head matchup.

They have our SOS at #42 which isnt great and might be getting worse
Clearly our schedule doenst look as daunting and if we keep winning we could crack top four by end of season
