Not often does a team get the opportunity to redeem themselves so soon like Notre Dames football team. After last year's disaster on the road against Miami, once again Notre Dame will take an undefeated team on the road, this time to play Virginia Tech... Let's see if they can rise to the occasion.
Duke's handled Army, NW and Baylor, the latter two on the road. It was also missing a bunch of guys in Waco. That's not exactly a murderer's row, but Duke was clearly better than all three. Meanwhile, VT has wins over William & Mary and an FSU team that may win 3-4 games. Are we sure VT isn't just a four-loss team once again?
Come on. Pretty clear that all our real fans here figure the season is about over after VA Tech. I'm not so sure.
Good point...Want the showdown between 2 undefeated teams at night....ND can obtain some redemption for last year's loss at Miami...
To make matters worse, I watched a number of Miami games both before and after they played us last year. They were not an outstanding team by any stretch...
I wouldn't look past anybody right now and I don't see how anybody could.
At the very least, Shaw is a better coach than Kelly and will beat him more times than not.

The sad part is that they were not looking all the good coming into ND. They looked like complete crap against North Carolina two weeks prior even though they won.
ND should have been the ones to expose them if they were any good. Kelly was utterly clueless and the team fell apart.
Yes...Mark Richter could not sustain the winning.... Team just disappeared...
being smarter in using his personnel and knowing the college game better. He seems to learn from his mistakes....and has laid an egg or two. But, more often than not, his teams seem to play well most of the time without 5 star talent....just smart, tough, hard workers. Kelly has those kind of players, but does not seem to use their offensive talent well though there are also exceptions such as Fuller, Adams, Prosise and Eifert.
We see the power "I" set on occasion, but it comes as no surprise to anyone when it does. As has been said more than a hundred times by many, the run game is too slow to develop and subject to predictability. Most anyone would expect that many coaches could have taken the same players through the same schedule over the past 8 years with better results.
Yes... Would be great if Notre Dame got to Blacksburg undefeated,at night... Miami lost 3 straight after the ND game... you are right they were a pretender...I believe if Williams plays against Stanford he goes off...Lot of emotion in the college game...And I am assuming the offense improves and handles Wake....

Me too...I go back to Coley O'Brien coming in for Hanratty against Bubba Smith and Michigan State....Alan Page,Jim Lynch,Rocky Blier...and others...
I cant look past anyone , nevertheless Stanford but love your enthusiasm..I watched every minute of that '66 classic, and what ajob Coley did that day..I also remember Joe Theismann filling in for an injured Hanratty in '68, and performing magnificiently..Last three games in '68, the very last one a 21-21 tie with OJ's USC powerhouse..
That game was the game of the century for me....Duffy Doherty on the sidelines...ND will beat Wake... Stanford not as confident...but wouldn't it be great to have ND one year later at night, undefeated at Blacksburg.... especially after the debacle at Miami...and I want Tech undefeated...yes I know about the offense and it's struggles.... Kelly is Kelly....Oline showed improvement..... want to see the Dex effect ASAP...
