I was hoping Stanford would win, so we could see a 7 vs 8 matchup at ND. I gotta admit, I wanted Va Tech and ND undefeated going into the showdown at Blacksburg.

Then why do you think strength of schedule is important?
What if 7 teams all have one loss
That has to be the dumbest comment on here in a long time
The ACC is weak this year so with the loss, it is more important for VT to beat ND.
And it would be better for Stanford to be coming off a win than a loss as well as the fact it is even more important for them to beat us.
And don't assume a 12-0 ND gets in the playoffs versus 13-0 OSU, 13-0 Alabama, 12-0 Oklahoma, 13-0 Oregon with the built in basis toward conference champions.
Of course, it is highly unlikely for all of that to happen and that includes a 12-0 ND.

I think I'll find my blankie and suck my thumb in the corner contemplating my failures.
And then I'll be reminded that the emptiness of your post speaks volumes of your contributions as a poster.
And all will be well with the world.

Only time SOS is gonna come into play is if they finish 11-1 and are trying to make a case.

3 undefeated teams in any given in season is considered a lot.
