He has to have surgery on his quadricep. It tore off the bone and needs to be reattached. Ouch.

and most think he will be a beast in a couple of years...if not next season.
I knew a 56 year old who had the same type of injury. He was a world class softball pitcher and I expected that it ended his career. He did not have surgery as the doctors knew it would heal on its own. No one ever discussed if he would ever pitch again as it was his pitching arm.
Next season, after not hearing a word from him, I returned for a game a bit late due to other obligations....and had tears in my eyes as I saw him on the mound where he belonged....throwing as good as ever!!
I suspect Franklin will likely be fine for Spring ball. Maybe there is an ortho on here who could enlighten us further?
After further thought, this may be a leg injury and not the arm but I still think he will have a full recovery.

Awful news, but at least he can count this year as a redshirt one.
