Book 24-33 72 %. If Wimbush is his average 48% that’s about 16-33. 8 less completions is a lot of stalled drives and kills our offense. I know it’s only a couple of games but this far I am (very) pleasantly surprised at Books football smarts - no dumb mistakes or turnovers, his elusiveness in the pocket - he senses pressure well and evades it while still looking downfield to make a play, and I have agree with Kelly that there seems to be a sense of urgency when the offense takes the field. I don’t want to sound nuts but he does remind me some of Montana.
well even under duress; IMO he knows the offense better and runs it better; he makes better throws—especially the shorter ones; allows coaches to expand the playbook; he’s a leader (like Montana) and other players are drawn to him—-the IT factor; he makes plays w/o getting too rattled; perhaps best of all, he’s confident but humble.
