I wrote this last week but did not post and then did a follow up.
Just some observations After Wake.
Our D IS THAT GOOD.
Play calling in the first 3 games beyond the first half of the Michigan game was shit! Or was that the limitation of the QB.
Our offense does have play makers, see previous comment.
The decision making of the QB today was the best I have seen since when? I am not sure.
I like the fact that we have Athletes on the Kick Off and Punt team, not just kids they are trying to get on the field.
Really good to see #4 and 87 get touches on the O.
Right now, it looks like ND beat a really good Michigan team.
This was the best coached team they have put on the filed since when? I am not sure.
Based upon todays game I don’t think ND can beat Bama but it is going to be a lot of fun to watch going forward. Thank you B K.
Just my observations after Stanford:
Play calling excellent. I did not like the calls in the late 1st quarter or early 2nd, but who cares.
Tillery is a BEAST.
Who in this country would not want #83 on their special teams???
ND Linebackers are getting away with a lot of holding the TE’s and RB’s coming out of backfield.
ND D Line gets held all the frigging time and hardly get any calls.
Book is not just a game manager. Some of the throws he made were PERFECT.
Book is an athlete.
It is good to see an ND QB that does not have the Deer in the Headlights look. Book is a leader and the team is rallying around him.
Just give the ball to Dexter.
ND DB’s gave up a few plays but made a lot of plays.
The hed coach and his staff are doing a great job. Just admit it.
He made the QB change. Kudos. And it seems like he has actually relinquished play calling duties and it's fun to watch. It's fun to watch Long call a game where he can use the entire playbook. Night and day different from last year and early this year.
If I was a head coach who stubbornly insisted on starting a QB, who was unprepared, could only use his feet successfully to gain first downs, leaving the rest of the offense watching in confusion for three games, two of which the team could have lost, and then make an obvious overdue change to a QB that could run the offense efficiently and effectively, would I be a better, possibly good, head coach? Or would the improvement belong to the players?
but that you still aren't super good.
