Saban is among the highest paid CFB coaches. His assistant coaches, as well as the guy in charged of S&C, are among the best paid. Given what's taking place at public unis, students are taking on increasing student debt. With alll that, the AD doesn't provide free tickets for the students. But Saban thinks students have to show up to see Bana roll over non P5 foes. These guys are either stupid or detached...

Also, might be some viewership value in having the eighth spot weighted to help a team that performs very well in the second part of the season to help gin up interest and keep slow starters alive longer...
