Could this be what Narduzzi noticed and defended against?
Book is listed at 6' but is he really shorter than that?

His choice move is spinning and moving right. Pitt stopped that (like I said once a good DC/head coach get some game tape on Book we'll see how he does) by rushing the DE on that side of the line deep and force Book to his left which he wasn't very good at.
Let's see how ND/Book adjusts to that move because it will get repeated as other teams see the Pitt tape.

Nice catch of the typo but I guess I miss any point you were trying to make except barely (n the last 6 minutes of the game) beating a weak opponent who just lost their best defensive player is something to crow about.
I see what I see. And I've seen enough football (and been in enough game tape sessions) to know when a DE is charging usually deep on Book's right (without any type of similar effort on his left) because he has clearly been coached to do so..
The fact is that Book has performed well the last few weeks but he needs to be much much better if ND is going to make the playoffs. Last week he was downright awful (sorry if that comment makes me less of a fan boy) downfield which is why our running game didn't work against Pittsburgh with virtually every defensive player with 15 yards on line the line on most plays as Pittsburgh was daring him to do deep.
ecically when you consider the absmal performances by Wimbush we were forced to sit through for roughly a year and a half. Are there a couple of things Book needs to touch up on? Possibly. Specifically, the deep ball. That's about the ONLY thing you can knock this guy on.
You can claim fanboy all you want, but your post seemed more of an angry rant because Wimbush with all his "potential" isn't the QB. We've not seen an ND QB half as good as Book has been, in a long, long time.
has more to take forward in the coming weeks from the mistakes he made. That is a pretty solid observation you made and I am sure our coaches will notice it too. By the way Okwara saved our ass and he is turning out to be similar to my prediction about Coney three years ago in that he was underrated. Okwara is a stud.
I am happy with Book's play to date. Book's spin and roll to his right was becoming so habitual that it was only a matter of time before a good DC countered it. He does need to work on his downfield throws or we aren't going to be 12-0. This wasn't a good defense we faced without it's best defensive player and we still only scored 19 points.
We'll see how Book (hopefully with assistance from his coaches) adapts and how the offense evolves to best manage his strengths.
point of the game? Create a plan the other team can't stop regardless of who's more "talented". Maybe if ND's OL and RB blocking was better Book wouldn't have had to spin out so much? Possibly, a better O-Coordinator (or whom ever really calls the plays) would have employed a rolling pocket if they knew the OL couldn't block or pickup the blitzes?
Did Book look bad under durress? Sure, but name me 3 QBs that look great under durress? What's been the secret to NDs much improved defense in 2018? Pressure, not sacks, pressure. What did Pitt put on ND? Pressure. It's real hard to pin this on Book, he has exactly nothing to do with controlling pressure. The OL has everything to do with controlling pressure. I mean, he could audible but that doesn't seem to be part of ND's offensive plan.
Sure, Book had an off game and had two picks. But, I'll take 250 and 70%+ comp rate any day of the week over sub 50% completions and deer-in-headlights looks every 3rd series.
that would probably help prevent defenses from being so ready for and efficient against against our passing game.
Fanboy? Sure, whatever....
In post game comments, Pittsburgh defensive players said the same. They noted tendencies of Book were consistent and repeatable, with no adjustments shown over the course the games he started.

Everett Golson was 5' 11" with his shoes on and could physically see over the offensive line just fine. The mental block was another issue, though.

Being in the pocket may present a problem for him.
Pitt disrupted the timing. Book got antsy. That's it. He hadn't seen that yet and should learn from it. He and the O-Line had problems identifying and picking up blitzers.
