Because I hate myself and all. The program wasn’t ready for the big stage and it showed against the flaming demon horse that was, and is, Bama.
I see the same fate for us this year, but probably not at the same magnitude. Those mongrels pistol-whipped us from start to finish, but I think the program is a little deeper now to at least compete with Nick Satan’s army of hellions.
Someone’s gotta knock these Dixie demons off their pedestal in the regular season or else the Title is theirs.
Now this isn't to say we were necessarily going to win that game, but the team that spanked OU and Miami, and beat Stan, MSU, mich, and USC would have completed tooth and nail vs them.
Unfortunately that was not the team that showed up for the NC game. In between the win at the Coliseum and stepping off the bus vs Bama, two things occurred that I believe shattered that teams psyche: 1) the Manti hoax story broke and the emotional leader of the team became a punchline for jokes and a laughing stock across the whole country 2) Kelly went and interviewed with the NFL and doubt and concern about the program's future (let alone who would coach them in the NC game) began to set in.
No one will ever convince me that the team we watched the second half of that season is the same one that showed up for the NC game, Bama was good but they weren't that damn good, we just weren't ourselves.
been hurt too against Bama, but his cooler hand and ability to handle choas would have been much, much better than the Golson trainwreck we had to sit through.
I think maybe your memory of that game has been affected by your distaste for Golson along with all the bad we saw from him in '14.
Golson showed his ass plenty and I could probably list about 100 terrible plays on his part, but in that NC game vs Bama, he was about the only one who did show up to play that night.
1. Kelly didnt do as much contact leading up to the NC game with Bama due to fear of injuries and it showed in our tackling and getting beat at point of contact
2. I was at the game and Notre Dame looked like a high school team against the size of Alabama, especially in the trenches.
Momentum was lost after the bad call on punt return cost us 3 or 7.
Should have been a lot tighter but Vegas prolly was right.
On field during warmups Bama looked bigger, faster and stronger.
In game their O-line and D-line play was insane.
Guessing that 1 out of ten times we might have beaten them, with us
playing our best, getting the breaks and Bama playing their worst.
Alabama was the better team, but ND was better than they showed that night.
Yeah, they were the better team, but if we brought our A game we had a puncher's chance which is more than I can say for how it went down.
Funny thing is, my superstitious side still blames my mother in law for that game, but that's a long story..
And I thought Tuitt or Nix was nursing some minor injury.

Of course, I guess we would have had to vacate it anyway.

Surprised you could even spell it.
Oh and btw I think you mean schmuckatelli. Dumbass!

by a low life like you. I thought we were just discussing what a stupid piece of shit you are.
My bad..

I don't remember ever using (or even hearing) the term Schmuckup.
Guess your hero Kelly and I have something in common now, both of our greatest accomplishments have been vacated over some dumb shit.

you were in the Corps yourself.
Regardless what was asked, no matter how unrealistic the timeline was, or the expected result itself, or if you had an ouchie, or if the pace of the formation was too fast, or if it was raining, or if you didn't have the right tools, or enough man power, or you just got a dear John letter..
Didn't matter, Mission Accomplishment at all costs, so suck it up!
Suck It The F--K UP! I think you are a bullshiter……..
I guess you missed the part at the end where I said 'suck it up' (guess you struggle with reading, writing and comprehension)...you really thought I didn't know what the TF stood for?? ..as in STFU, or dude WTF...lol, retard.
...any dipshit who knows how to spell google could look up what 'the acronym' stands for, but only a Marine would know what it actually means.
You asked me 'what does it mean' and that's what I gave you...if that ain't good enough for you, then piss off. If I wanna hear anything else out of your pie hole, I'll remove my cock.

and I can vouch for Chris that he is a retired Marine.
Accusing him of stolen valor is baseless at best. I see below you said you were a grunt...ok, what unit?
While he's remembering (or googling) some grunt units...here are some units I've been at:
-MALS-36 multiple times
-MALS-41
-HMM-466
-MALS-16 multiple times
-MALS-11
-MWHS-3
-MALS-39
-HMM-364
-VMM-268
And that doesn't count units I was deployed with or went to schools/trainings at...
Deployment locations (don't recall units off hand since we were TAD) include South Korea, Kuwait and Iraq (and OKI numerous times, but most Marines don't consider those real deployments).

I may have forgotten one in there, but I've intentionally tried leaving most of that behind because my civilian job is working around people in IT who are very over sensitive to the kind of things we used to say and do just for fun. I've had to change the way I talk and approach people drastically, but making the big bucks now so gotta do what I gotta do.
Good on ya'. AATW! RLTW!!
I am.
Why don't you tell me what APES stands for and what that is commonly called by Marines, and at what rank Marines become subject to it, and what they are subject to before then that serves the same purpose, what it's called and what is the difference between APES and it?
What is the difference between a PFT/CFT, what is the difference between what you wear for each?
What is the difference between a BST and an ASVAB? What's the difference between a MAW, a MAG, and a MALS? What is the difference between an HMM and VMM unit and how are they one in the same? What is a Marine's 12th General Order?
What is the difference between MCRD and Parris Island? What is the difference between the 3rd, 4th, and 5th recruit training battalions?
on first down, 2nd and 11, got thrown for a five yard loss on second down, 3rd and 16, completed a pass but were lined up wrong so 3rd and 21, and took too much time, now 3rd and 26, punted on 4th down and TCU got all the momentum back. When I see that kind of stuff it reminds me that Kelly is not too bad a coach.
Kelly is by far (other than maybe OLeary) the best we've hired since Holtz left, so obviously he is not bad, but that doesn't mean he's good enough. We have never in our entire history kept a HC more than 5 yrs if they hadn't won a title...he's in year 9, there has to be a point that you accept if he hasn't done it he's had long enough and it's time to make a change. When is that....10, 13, 15....20??
In my honest opinion Kelly is a good not great coach...a good coach can make it at ND "if" they are the perfect fit, but Kelly just isn't the right fit for here.

We had to do and be proficient at everything you did, plus have an actual job we had to excel at.
Not to say there aren't some GREAT Marines on the grunt side, I've met some that were every bit as sharp as the ones on the maintenance side, but every one of them would tell you they were under utilized because as long as you can handle the physical part, being a grunt is easy. Now I'll give it to you, physically it's tougher to make it to 20 on that side, but every grunt we ever had lat move to us, said the same thing 'wow, I didn't think you guys did anything, but you have it way tougher'. I bet your ass never even heard of an EXREP did you.
So if you really are a Marine, I'll tip the hat to you even as a grunt...but if so, you should easily be able to to answer the questions I asked you above (and not google search answers, actual you know what it means answers.
I'll wait..

Do you know the difference?
you are way too sissified!
Easy stuff, if you really were a Marine...

Might be smart for Saban to lose to LSU on purpose and will probably kill ND's chances undefeated or not.

I wouldn't exactly bet the house on that. They are the only team that could lose twice and still get in.

Of the 16 teams to make the 4 team playoffs thus far, 13 have had one loss and three have been undefeated entering the playoffs.
Of the 3 undefeated teams going into the playoffs, 2 won their first game and one (Florida State In 2014-15) lost.
Of the 2 undefeated teams reaching the finals, none won the Championship. Alabama beat an undefeated Clemson team (2015-16) and Clemson beat an undefeated Alabama team (2016-17).
