This change may affect the effectiveness of Navy's run game in the upcoming game. Wanted to find an update to the stats here as we are far enough into the season that the effect on flexbone blocking and potential penalties should be somewhat clearer. However, did not come up with newer data

"Army had the ball for 44:41 and ran 87 plays to Oklahoma's 40. It was the third-fewest offensive plays for Oklahoma in school history and the fewest since running 38 against Colorado in 1960." (Link below) Army also runs a Paul Johnson derived "Flexbone" triple option offense. Houston -- which possessed the ball for only 17:27 to Navy's 42:33 and gave up 527 total yards, including 349 rushing -- would probably argue not much of an affect as well. Anecdotal, yes, but I wouldn't count on that rule change making things easier for ND.
