He's ranked 1st in Comp % (removing all players that have like 30 or less attempts - likely non QBs)
19th in total QBR
76th in passing yards
Tied 43rd in TDs (10 others)
98th in attempts
That's a pretty good QB ranking across the board and a bit nit picky to complain about 4 picks in 170 attempts (about 2%).

I don't see a lot of angst over the INTs, . . though 4 in three games is worth noting. (He threw zero INTs in his first 85 attempts, then threw 4 in his next 85 attempts). INTs could hurt against better teams. Mostly I think the board is thrilled with Book and the way he's played. Mostly I see descriptions like "winner" and "leader." He's played extremely well overall and the majority on the board are crediting him with it.
character of the announcer that was talking. I'd say deep ball is more his weakness than turnover.
bail out play where they throw on third and three or 4th and three because it is always accurate and the receivers are catching it. It is not always picking up three yards in that situation by running the ball because the defense is often playing the run first and sells out to stop that. Now we have an accurate QB who makes it tougher on the defense because of his ability to make that play and little roll out plays where the receivers easily get open,
As for comparing him to Theismann who easily was the best of the ones I ahve seen, he may not have his arm strength but he has other similar attributes.
Very accurate with his short passes, but if he'd look another 20 yds downfield there were wide open guys everywhere.

in completion %-age warrants more than a “decent” rating. What is his worth to this team??? Answer: INVALUABLE. Why must you and a few others on this board seek to minimize what this team is doing and throw cold water on an 8-0 team? Pathetic.
3 years ago we had didn't have players in the secondary and the DL, but the staff has addressed that. The level of athleticism is just amazing compared to what is was a few years ago, we're a notch below OSU and for a midwest team, that's a huge accomplishment.
The QB group is not at the level of the other position groups, and that's on Kelly. After he fucked up Crist, Golson, and Kizer, no one wants to come here. Jacob Eason was an elite prospect that should have been here but wanted nothing to do with Kelly.
Book is just better than Wimbush that's all he is, but since every other position group is strong, that's all we need. He's Tommy Rees with more talent around him.
You bring up some excellent points, that the talent level has gotten better.
However, to say that he's the equivalent of Tommy Rees isn't quite valid. Book has good mobility, poses a real threat to run, and has a significantly stronger arm than Tommy Rees ever had.
The full playbook is open with Book at the helm, whereas at least half of the playbook was unavailable to us in 2011 / 2013, simply because Rees couldn't execute the QB run, and certainly couldn't make the medium range throws. Teams simply had to drop back 8 in a short zone, and our offense would grind to a halt.

Mercedes and BMWs for QBs

That could probably start for at least 95-100 DI schools
