Football is a weird game. Yes usually play 40 to 59 guys in a game. A crucial mistake by 1 person can swing a game.
There are lots of styles of play that create unique match ups.
The ball bounces weird ways.
There is a lot of mental and physical fatigue.
Momentum makes a huge difference.
Officials can play a huge impact on a game.
Among other things.

to defeat TEMPLE, AND BEATING NAVY by 11, would keep his trap shut..
Attention seeking behavior by that player...ND could employ a run oriented offense, score after long drives and have that player on the bench watching... For some reason Kelly/Long stay away from the long run oriented drive...the 12 play run drive against FSU was a thing of beauty... like to see that against Syracuse..it will keep the Cuse uptempo offense on the bench freezing their ass off...I am curious to see what the offense does.. How about double tight end...
and the fact I read yesterday a weakness of the 'Cuse is rushing defense..
That being said, expect BK to come out slinging it..
Good running game will break Syracuse and USC....
Amazing how comparable opponents is only important when it favors us
This kid will play on Sundays before Book does
No first rounder or anything but seems like a guy that can make it at the next level as a backup and maybe get a shot as a game manager. Im a homer though.....
When he gets better at delivering deep ball, which I think he will, I honestly believe he's got a shot at the NFL. Agree with you that he seems to have the disposition for it.
enough. He is a little faster than Theismann also reads defenses pretty well. Too early to tell but he is on track. That being said, NFL QBs and college QBs are kind of a some look and play better in college and some do better as a pro. You said both of our QBs were worse than Hurts too, so I take your negative attitude with a grain of salt.
as the better , probably faster runner..I just remember Joe as such a passing/running threat, as to be a nightmare to opponents..Then again, Im probably a little prejudiced, as Joe was one of my all time fave ND QBs..And I don't care what the polls said, Joe's senior yr, ND was best team in country..
Which surprised me.
only matters when it can be used tor criticize Kelly or the Irish.
About Strength of Schedule? I talked about comparative opponents nimrod
Yes Our SOS is weak and their's is terrible. 49th is nothing to pound your chest on either bud.
ND lined up a schedule expecting it to extremely difficult. UM, FSU, USC, Virginia Tech (in Blacksburg), Stanford. It's not like ND backed down from a challenge or set the schedule to be easy. Nobody could have predicted that all but Michigan would have such down seasons.
