All year long this has been obvious....
Notre Dame, first series, first down... run up the middle... no gain
Notre Dame, second series, first down... run up the middle... no gain
Notre Dame, third series, first down... run up the middle... 2 yard loss
Notre Dame, fourth series, first down... run up the middle... 3 yard loss
Notre Dame, fifth series, first down... run up the middle... 1 yard gain
Notre Dame, sixth series, first down... run up the middle... no gain
Notre Dame, seventh series, first down... run up the middle... no gain
et., etc., etc., etc., etc............
For the love of God! Every first down play all year long has been a run up the middle with either no gain or a loss. I know it's coming, you know its coming, everyone in the stadium knows its coming, everyone in America knows its coming.
Here's a great idea... Let's mix it up and try different things on first down. Maybe we'll actually gain some yardage and not put ourselves in a down-and-distance hole all the time.
JESUS!!!!!!!!!!

chess match and some people would like us to always run the ball. Successful plays are the right call and unsucessful plays are a bad calls.
You'll fit right in there.
Of course I enjoy the wins... don't be obtuse. What I'm saying is that our wins would be a lot easier with a bit more creativity.
to contact you for input on the fucking game plan. I'm sure you have a ton of experience. Again, 12-0. I guess there will always be something stupid to bitch about or it wouldn't be a ND fan base.
What an asshole you are!!!! Obviously you don't have the mental capacity to even begin to understand what I was saying.
Did I say I wasn't happy with 12 wins? No! I didn't say that, asshole! What I am saying is that if some of our play calling wasn't so obvious to everyone then we might get some positive yardage on first down and not always be putting ourselves in the whole when it comes to down-and-distance for second and third down.
Now, is that clear to you, asshole? Since you're in Florida and know so much about football why don't you tell the Florida State coaches how to run their team... or from the looks of it, you already are! Grow up, quit being a total asshole and read what people are saying, not what you "think" they are saying. "Thinking" is obviously not your strong suit.

Looks like you did the checking. Good work.
One of my concerns I've had is that we pass too often, and don't commit to the run when the run is working...i.e., keep doing it until they stop us...instead we "change it up." But, I haven't voiced that complaint since Book took over, because I have far more confidence in his passing decisions. I was surprised to see Robert's post complaining about something that I feel like we rarely do...become too predictable of a run team.
Then please go back and watch all the games... you'll see it.
Off the top of my head, I can think of several games that didn't follow that script.
Well, please DO let me know... because off the top of my head I can't think of games where a run up the middle on first down has not been more predominant than other types of plays. And, if you can show me a game where its hasn't been the case, let me know the score of that game because, if true, then I'd be willing to bet we scored a lot more points when we've mixed it up better.

Great! One time an unpredictable first down play... and look at the results! Imagine if we were unpredictable more often!

Of course you can fine isolated examples. Now... count all the first down plays where its a run up the middle against all the first down plays that are not a run up the middle... and you'll see what I mean. Picking isolated instances isn't proving your case.
I've just shown that to be completely wrong. Utterly and absolutely wrong. If I wanted to spend the whole day looking at play-by-play for first series, second series, etc., I could. But for god's sake, . . really? You are a fly-by-night poster who just showed up to drop some ludicrous information on the board. I think I've done more than what is needed here.
This is getting tedious.

I guess the staff doesn't need Robert's input on play calling. Looks like they are in good shape. Oh and 12-0.
Before today, this robertkolt guy posted exactly one time during the season. And that was say "move Wimbush to RB." One post all season, then this shit show. He's here to stir the pot. Reasons unknown.

I agree. This line cannot run block. We don't have an offensive line that lets us pound the ball down the other teams throats. Either these guys are overrated or the Oline coach is. Have to throw more on first down to keep defense questing. Complete more passes will open up running game. Remember the old saying, run the ball when they expect you to pass and pass the ball when they expect you to run it.
Yes, I have been worried all year that our O-Line isn't up to what we've been accustomed to the past couple of years. They're getting better with experience, but they are still not at a great level... and the number of penalties they rack up every game is also problematic.
You are about the only one who has commented on this who also sees of the weaknesses that need to be shored up. Everyone else seems to think that we've gotten to be 12-0 with no difficulties along the way, and that there is no room for improvement. We've left a ton of points on the field this year, and given up some, too.
I'm thrilled we're 12-0... but I just think it would be a lot easier if we weren't so predictable.
Dexter Williams has played 8 games and rushed for 942 yards on 142 attempts. That would be a 6.6 average with 12 TD's. Tony Jones is averaging 4.7 yards a carry and Jafar Armstrong 5.3 YPC. And they have a total of 27 rushing TD's. Not too bad for a team that cannot run block. Again, 12-0. Enjoy it and stop looking for things to complain about.
That's great! Imagine how many yards they'd have with some unpredictable play calling. That's where your "logic" is faulty.
Nobody is "looking" for anything to complain about... but when tis obvious, its obvious. Guess you don't see too well.
Now go call Florida State and give them the benefit of your wisdom... asshole!
I'll try and get a hold of Chip Long so he can get in touch with you for some of your "creative plays". I'm sure you got white boards all over your house with plays already drawn up.
What a complete dip shit!!! Can't argue with logic and proof so you resort to childishness. You really ARE an asshole!
You made a series of statements above about the offense that a number of posters then demonstrated were completely false by simply providing examples of direct evidence (in the form of easily observable facts [initial offensive plays from scrimmage] and easily accessible data [total rushing yardage and per carry averages]), yet you're the one accusing said posters of (1) being unable to argue with logic and proof (neither of which you've provided at any point in this exchange) and (2) resorting to childishness, at which point you then call one of the posters an "asshole" after having previously referred to said poster as a "complete dip shit"?
So, given your voluminous posting history, what's your real agenda here?

making plays to. However, our line seems to succeed on quite a number of plays as evidenced by many good runs by Dexter and Jafar. Jones simply needs one block and then runs over and through people.
