It seemed like they did everything possible to keep USC in the game. Have not seen a game that bad in several years.

There were some missed calls both ways, but nothing that seemed egregious or that truly impacted the outcome of the game.
Now if you want to talk about awful officiating, you should be talking about the LSU-A&M 7OT 'thriller' from last night that never should have gone to OT, let alone 7 of them... The officiating in that game was so poor and incompetent, it was borderline criminal.
They generally let both teams play, especially wrt holding calls.

Holding on the offensive line by USC was blatant and basically glaring in the faces of the referees like an overblown neon sign.
There were even times when you could see a white jersey being stretched pretty far our, or a lineman literally bear hugging a defender, and it wasn't being called.
The face mask grabbing at the end of the 1st half (USC defender yanked Boykin's head down on that Hail Mary) was obvious as well.
The pass interference calls against us, I would call a wash. Yes, there was one that was very bad that didn't get called, but at the same time, we did get away with one.
In the end, it's up to us to be that much better than the opposition, so that referee calls aren't a significant factor. We left at least 14 points on the field.
Don't get me wrong... I'm actually happy that I can complain about not finishing off opponents like we should, since that means that we came away with the win.
I agree bomber
