Harbaugh, or just about any other coach outside of Nick Saban, would be safe by reaching that benchmark.
Now, in the long term, if he can't defeat tOSU, then that could be grounds for Michigan giving him the heave-ho (ala John Cooper), but he's got a ways to go before hitting that threshold.
None of the other Big Ten teams can recruit at SEC levels, including Michigan. They are all too far north, physically and culturally. Notre Dame did the right thing by rebuffing the Big Ten’s awkward courtship and associating with the ACC. It’s the best of both worlds, Southern exposure and most tv eyeballs of any conference.
