There's an SI article from today that goes through every possible permutation of results for the conference title games. In every single scenario Notre Dame is in the top three. The only scenario that doesn't have ND at #3 has it at #2.

OU and OSU destroy their competition and Ga beats Al in a tight game.
Then, there is the risk of the argument that RIGHT NOW, OSU is one of the 4 best as is Alabama.
OSU would have the adv of better wins against UM and NW as well as a 13th game .......this, of course would not be fair since against NW, Kelly had the 3rd string D in while Meyer would now know that he had to keep piling on until the very end.
This scenario is also a slightly lesser risk if both OU and OSU destroy their opponents and Alabama wins or if OSU destroys NW and Georgia beats Alabama.
