Perhaps great football coach. Awful leader with a open closet full of skeletons.

His success is built on looking away from/ignoring problems and then being co-facilitated by his bosses. He is the king of the castle when it comes to replicating Sgt. Schultz.

He has genuine health issues so he'll take some time off but more likely to end up in the booth than anyway else. They need someone to replace Mack Brown after all.

Pretty Boy is totally irrelevant anymore. He is nothing more than a snake oil salesman for ESPN/SEC

That said, Urban is likely saying right now that he won't coach again.

Sometime in 2020 you'll hear that he now has his headaches under control and he's accepting 10 mil/year from some top level school that's content with running a shady program.

A coach the likes of Urban Meyer will demand to have complete control over the football program, at every level. Such an accommodation gives exceptional levels of security to the coach, especially when it comes to quashing things that could potentially have gotten him fired.

Notre Dame's Board of Trustees will not give a coach that kind of power. That was one of the bigger reasons why Meyer didn't take the job back in 2004 (along with the depleted talent on ND's roster).

I don't foresee this ever changing.

...ever.

He was the dream candidate once. His leveraging of ND at that time coupled with his reputation and some tarnishing since rule him out as a candidate for ND ever again.

There was nothing more I wanted in December of 2004. That was then...
