I think they’re basically calling him a reasonable “dark horse” contender.

He came through many times for us, he was just unlucky in the pros and tried to play through an injury that in the end really hurt him. He did beat Pittsburgh on the road with a much weaker team in Cleveland. Also the idiot agent who advised him did a poor job before his rookie year.
Dumbass. He's had a phenomenal year as part time stater, and you want to write him off based on one game? what a dick
what is obviously the second-best program in the country behind only Alabama. C'mon, get it right.
ND will get enough media attention they will be in the conversation. (Plus including ND drives clicks.)
Wimbush was mentioned at this point last year. Kizer and Zaire in years before.
because of all the wildly successful ND quarterbacks the last three decades?
Clausen successful for us. Also Kevin McDougall was successful for us. It does not matter what they did or did not do as pros, or I guess Tebow's career was not successful either.
How did your list do?
We havent been in the picture for 30 years because of lack of NFL caliber QBs......those guys all flamed out in the NFL and didnt get us to the promised land
No one considers ND QB U.....no one that I know of.....
Book wont play on Sundays either.....

I don’t put much stock in it. Just thought it was appropriate board fodder.
Wimbush was still 33-1 coming into this season. Crazy.
around and create a championship caliber team out of fairly good team - you deserve that kind of recognition.
I think this time the ND QB is appropriately in the discussion. Not among the favorites or anything.
