It’s FootballScoop.
Alabama has 2 great QBs.
Oklahoma has a Heisman winner.
Rees whiffed on improving Wimbush.
No question Book is maximizing his talent.
Credit must be given to Rees on that one.
Hope he does a good job with Jurko, who has the most ability of all.
like this is more than just having good QBs on the roster. Good QBs in college can make almost any coach look good. In this situation, it was perceived the QBs at ND weren't good and unknown. When you turn that into 12-0 and your unheralded "backup" QB is the sole reason for the turnaround and success; that generally speaks more to coaching than talent.
It’s FootballScoop. Hardly a prestigious award.

It’s FootballScoop.
Not exactly a distinguished panel of experts.

has more talent? If he comes in and lights up the Spring Game you can make some sort of conclusion like that. But, Jurko hasn't done anything yet to even remotely turn someone's head.

If he has another good season, and there is reason to think he will with his entire receiving core back and a bunch of receiving options in the backfield, he'll get his degree and move on to the NFL.

and all the coaching in the world isn't going to help.
There are a ton of guys that just never get any better no matter how much they, or the coaches, try. Wimbush had a decent start in 2017 but he just never progressed. It happens. I am still glad that Wimbush is on our team and he will graduate and continue the on-going line of not great football players becoming wonderful and successful ND people.

ND thrived with the season-starting backup QB emerging and having great success . . . and that QB was not a premium recruit like Tua or Kyler.
