Who didn't see that coming with his degree in hand. Best of luck to him.

I've been a critic of his play on several occasions, especially when it came to not being able to properly utilize the entire offense with his skill set, but at the same time, I also happily acknowledge, that his skill set did win us quite a few games over the last two years. Even though this year's FSU was a weaker team, we probably don't get a blowout if he's not there to pick up the mantle.
The man is a class act, and a hard worker. I hope that he can find a place that will be a better fit for his skill set, and I hope that he beats everyone he plays (except us, on that chance).

If he was looking to change positions, he could stay at ND.

Installing a new system similar to what other schools, including ND, run, and with no experienced QBs within that offense, Wimbush would be a perfect caretaker for one year.
So, until it's known what system will be run there, GT is not a as yet "great for him"

. . . and doesn’t rely on him staying in the pocket and making complex reads. He completed over 50% in his season as the starter at ND last year. He never evolved into the guy to run the Kelly/Long offense. Is what it is. I don’t think he’s a triple option QB, but he’s a guy who can make big plays with his legs and off of play action. I wish him well.
I think he could be a great triple option QB
I have no reason to believe he can make the quick reads required for actual triple option . . . he never really did well with the read option. He needs to be in a simplified spread that gives him a couple of reads then lets him improvise as a runner. Like what he did against MSU and USC last season. He never devoloped the ability to make more complex reads or the touch and accuracy to flourish in the offense Kelly and Long want to run.

Hate to see him go though I understand.
It would be great to have him backing up Book in 2019 in case of injury or even for a change of pace when ND plays teams in 2019 with a poor run defense and Brandon could run crazy on them like he did vs BC in 2017.
He has been a class act through the whole season and did help us get one of the biggest wins in 2018 in the Michigan game.
