According to ESPN. I guess we better not show up. All I have heard about is Alabama, Oklahoma, and Clemson. Not much on ND. JUST THE WAY I LIKE IT. GO IRISH.
"hurt" their product. Keep in mind the game is on ESPN. None of them are going to flat out say ND has no chance or this game will be over by halftime b/c they want as many people watching as long as possible. You can tell people like David Pollack and Marty Smith are just dying to say how they really feel.
You see this in other CFB games where it is a blowout by the start of the 2nd Q but one of the commentators (usually the color guy) will make up some bullshit like "if X happens and then Y happens, then the team currently getting their ass kicked will still has a chance"
Wouldn't it be great if ND shocks the world and beats Clemson decisively?
Of course the same "experts" (like Pollack and Smith) who were dying to say ND would have no chance will make it seem like they knew all along ND could pull off a victory.
Such is the World of ESPN and their cronies.
I haven't been paying any attention to ESPN.
Woe is me

I watched that game. Syracuse played them really tough.
BTW, Dino Babers has done a really nice job at Syracuse.
I think Clemson is very good, and ND is going to have to play really well to win.
I do like Babers though.
'Cuse was 3-9 and 4-8 the two seasons before he took over. I figure you give any coach until year 3 to show improvement.

This is basically what was being said about ND prior to the Syracuse game.
"Notre Dame has a top 25 defense though, so it will be a tough test for Dungey. But he has weapons.
‘Cuse’s three-headed monster
SU’s backfield of Moe Neal, Dontae Strickland and freshman Jarveon Howardwill goes up against a Notre Dame team that’s ranked No. 41 in the country in rushing defense.
Neal is averaging six yards per carry this season and has scored five touchdowns. Last week against Louisville, he ran for 159 yards on eight carries. That’s 19.9 yards per touch.
Strickland and Howard both have six touchdowns.
Not to mention, the Orange wide receiving core has been more balanced in recent weeks with Nykeim Johnson, Taj Harris and Sean Riley all stepping up alongside SU’s leading receiver Jamal Custis.
Two teams have scored more than 50 points five times this season: Alabama…and Syracuse. The Orange has one of the best offenses in the country. They can attack this Notre Dame defense.
Notre Dame has had several close games this season against mediocre teams. The Irish beat Ball State by eight, Vanderbilt by five, and snuck past Pitt and Northwestern. They are due for a loss.
The Orange are playing with a ton of confidence right now and will come to Yankee Stadium more fired up than this group has ever been. Dungey will go off, Neal will have a solid game, and the defense will step up. The stakes couldn’t be higher, and the Orange will embrace the national spotlight.
So give me Syracuse. See y’all at the Peach Bowl."
==================================================
After the ND win over the Orange, most put it that ND won because Dungy was injured.
I will note one item missing - ND was a 9.5 pick over the Orange
Clemson is a 13.5 pick over ND though most non-ND fans / pundits are taking Clemson by that score or more - Some say an absolute blowout by Clemson.
