The best thing that could happen for ND tonight....Is Alabama blowing out Oklahoma. No matter what happensed tonight, ND deserved and earned the right to be in the college football playoff. But there is a clear distinction and difference between the top two teams in the country, Alabama and Clemson, and everyone else in the country. It's not even close. Alabama and Clemson are above and beyond every other team in the country and no team, 3 through 25, come even close or Compare to the skill, talent, ability, speed, etc. of the top two teams in the country, especially Alabama. No team in the top 15 is even comparable in a matchup against Clemson or Alabama in a playoff. The freakin heisman trophy winner has 18 yards passing and is down 28 to nothing right now. Yea it sucks the way ND lost, but it doesn't take away from their undefeated season and everything they accomplished this year. ND deserved to be there. They earned it, but unfortunately they accomplished everything they did in a year where the top two teams in the country are simply above and beyond everyone else. It sucks and we all wanted more but we should all admit reality, only two teams had a chance at a national championship....really one....nobody is going to beat Alabama.

I completely agree Georgia and Ohio State are comparable to ND, if not above them. But they didn't do what is necessary to earn a spot in the playoff. ND did. That being said, I don't see them having a much different outcome than ND just had against.Clemson.
Let's see how Clemson does in 9 days.

I guess we'll find out in 8 months how comparable ND is to GA.
8 months is a long way away but I can already tell it's going to be ugly.
I expected a closer game. We did not play well. Upsets happen all the time, that is why we play the games. Otherwise, just cancel the college football season and give the trophy to Bama every year.
Excellent post soldier. Sometimes reality is hard to accept and we have to accept your thinking. Under the present circumstances 12-1 is a great season.

Great teams make those plays when they have to and good teams don't.

There is are good reasons for some cliches.
Who cares? They didn't win. It doesn't matter if you win by 1 point or 41 points in college football, a win is a win. Winning football games in college football is a hard thing to do, no matter who you're playing. Especially for a team like Notre Dame who is the only team week in and week out who have a constant target on their back and who almost every team considers it their "super bowl", so to speak, when they play them. Saying "oh but this or that team was CLOSE to winning" means nothing.
Notre Dame just went 12 and 1. I don't care how bad their playoff loss was. They deserved to be there, earned it, and there's not a single team behind them that would have done any better. Clemson is just that good. Just like Alabama.

I'd say GA is pretty damn close to the other 2. And the only time Clemson played AL as well as GA was when they had a generationally good QB. We'll see next week.
