I told someone today that I think they hate ND so much, because of their independent nature that they influence calls on the field by the refs and what players win the heisman, etc. I think this is also due to how many games they broadcast and the money they pay to broadcast them, etc. The retired B10 referee in the booth with Blackledge and Mcdonough sounded like a pompous, elitist and biased jackass. This does not take away from ND FBall needing to overcome the terrible calls, but someone from ND needs to call the refs, both on the field and the retired ref in the booth out.
We'd be their darling if it wasn't for that.

Not to mention how much money they’ve invested in the success of certain programs. The sport has devolved as a result.
but you can't say ND doesn't have the resources to compete. Too busy being the Ivy League of the Midwest. Need to let in some impact players. Help them along. Isn't that what Catholics are supposed to do? Or are they just too uppity?
Yes, football made the school and it should be a high priority consistent with being ethical and educating well, but not elitist Ivy League. Hell, Holtz had five consecutive number 1 ranked classes and those kids were seldom a problem.
