I’d love to see the Irish play there sometime. It’s supposed to be a special atmosphere.
Whomever scheduled that game for Army got hit broadside by Murphy's Law ... aka the Law of Unintended and Not Good Results ... The score (62-3) was just a bit more bad news.
Despite the relatively small venue (38K or so) Army pushed to have the game at home vice the normal East Coast venues (I saw a game at Shea in 1965 as a student - was part of the largest civilian airlift in history up to that time and maybe a record that still stands).
While they probably thought it would be great to play in front of their own fans (other EC venues were filled with Subway Alumni) but little did they realize ...
ND fans created the same kind of environment they were trying to avoid by purchasing season tickets. Of course, not being Army fans that was their only game of the season leaving Army to play its other home games in a sparely populated stadium. Only upside was that Army had a lot more FB revenue that year vice their normal for the period.
Have gone on a brief tour there. No idea of stadium sight lines, etc but it seems like a great place to see in detail - sadly might not be able to do much of that as suspect there security regimen is more strict than my visit (they just wanted to keep the group more or less together)
You can see the Irish play Lacrosse there from time to time.
Go see Army play someone else. Air Force is best. It’s a special venue. Great time.
But ND will never play there.
Go see them play Air Force there, it's pretty special.
Stadium isn't big enough seating wise is it?
