While we wait for the Athens Armageddon on September 21st, let's kill some time with some down home jock speak.

1. What's wrong with adverbs?
" Our guys came out and played passionate, they played intense!" Is that like passionately and intensely?
2. Southern locations:
Lou'vul; Miss-sippi; Looz'yanna-Miz-zoor-a
3. Linebackerisms:
What was wrong with middle and outside linebackers? Now we have mikes, bucks, and rovers--can Sally come over?
4. Techniques?
Wasn't it easier when we had DTs and DEs? Now we have " techniques "--1-3-5. Aren't " techniques " ways of doing something, not human
beings. And then there is the dreaded " drop end ". He is big enough to rush the passer, but quick enough to drop back into pass coverage.
Good luck with that.
5. Fortuitous bounce?
The primary meaning of fortuitous is " accidental "; however, some " sophisticated jocks " (there's an oxymoron if ever there was --but they would
think that was was a crazy bull) go the fortuitous rather than fortunate route when describing a bounce (I'm looking at you, Clark Kellogg!).

See how much fun " jock speak " is? Please add some of your favorites. And let's hope we get some fortuitous, fortunate bounces against Georgia!

The "young" freshman. Is that as opposed to an "old freshman?

Touché! And since we are celebrating the Ascension today, what about a " rising " senior.
