especially in January.
As north as you can get in Mississippi. I have a sister who lived in Memphis for a number of years. Not South Bend winters by any stretch, but average low temps in December are mid 30s, with occasional super cold snaps . . . it got down to 7 degrees in Memphis in January of last year. And they get snow most Jan/Febs.

Not like South Bend winters. Just saying the kid isn’t a stranger to single digit temps and snow, so it won’t be such a culture shock like it is with some deep south kids.

Miss State has a CB commit of similar size to Offord with a verified 4.73 40 per 247. None of the other MSU or Ole Miss CB commits even have listed 40 times at 247, but Offord’s shuttle time is much better than Ole Miss’s top recruit. Offord is also higher rated than all but one CB at both schools. Who knows why Offord wasn’t offered in-state? Maybe he just knew he wanted to head elsewhere. And when will people understand that 4.6 is a good 40 for a bigger CB?

Give him a year of S&C under Coach Balis. I suspect that he can certainly shave off 0.10, maybe 0.15 seconds, off that 40 time after a year or so.
He ran 4.54 at the combine and 4.45 at pro day.
