With the exception of Gwaltney, that is some pretty low hanging fruit. And we do not need four USC quarterbacks.

Brian Kelly's big mistake during 2010 was trying to turn Dayne Crist into a spread running QB, with a lot of designed QB runs. With all of that talent in the receiving corp (Floyd, Kamara, Jones, Rudolph, Eifert and Riddick), it would have made much more sense to put a heavier emphasis on the downfield passing game, which was Crist's strength.
I honestly believe that if today's Brian Kelly could do it over again, he would have done the right thing, instead of trying to make it "my way or the high way."
Despite all of that, Crist still put up some decent numbers in 2010 (almost 60% completion rate, 15 TD, 7 INT) in 9 games until his knee got busted up by that late hit against Tulsa on that QB run... I don't think he ever mentally recovered from having two fully blown out knees after that.
they just replaced him.
I wouldn't blame that on the offense, even though I think Kelly's offense stinks. They did try a lot of things but there was very little re: the passing game that he could hang his hat on. He was either bouncing passes to the flat, too often behind receivers on throws in the seams, and late on throws down the field. There was one play, an across-the-field diagonal that he was good at but it frequently took too long to get it off or it would get his receiver killed as the ball floated across the field and the dbs went after it like heat seeking missiles.
Everyone wanted Wimbush to be the guy. I hope he does well in Florida.
I’m of the opinion that Wimbush couldn’t absorb the whole offense, and Kelly/Long were committed to getting him there or moving on from him. Looking back at early ‘17 games where he did well, it seemed like the passing game was simplified. A couple of reads, if it wasn’t there . . . improvise. With some planned runs sprinkled in. As time went by, it seemed like he was trying to stay in the pocket and go through more reads, and he just got more and more lost. If you watch and compare MSU ‘17 and Ball St. ‘18, it is like two different QBs . . . and two different offenses. Wimbush was cemented in the pocket in the latter game and couldn’t have looked less comfortable. I still think he can do pretty well in an offense that is tailored for him, accounting for his limitations instead of expecting him to grow out of them. I won’t be surprised if he has a good ‘19.
Unless you are talking about him needing to read defenses and make correct choices.
