Link: Notre Dame Football Recruiting 2020 at the Dead Period
There isn't any question that the corners we have taken have been developmental/project types who won't be ready for at least a year or two and in a class where we needed impact players at that position, it's disappointing to see. It's paid info from Rivals/247 but their mods have brought up the possibility of Todd Lyght being on the Autry Denson track at some point. Nobody seems to be high on Ramon Henderson, but Thompson they don't seem to love and I'm not sure why because he has a high floor and from what's been said is a very instinctual player with standout leadership traits plus he wants to be here. At the minimum, they know they're getting a very good player. This program is 22-4 in the past two years with at the most four scholarships left available so I'm just not seeing why we'd load up on projects at this point.
The few surprises? Harbaugh will tank and everyone heard it here first. That dummy is already talking about playing two QB's at the Big 10 media day yesterday, taking shots at Urban, etc. They're going to implode. If Henning and McGregor want back in they should be takes and I know about McGregor burning bridges but we've had decommitts flip and then flip back to us so who knows. Two wild cards here for me...I wouldn't quit on Jalen McMillian until NSD because if Kelly wants to close the gap, they need not one but two of those. Phillip Webb also says his recruitment is wide open and has reached out to the staff and there seems to be mutual interest there. He's a take regardless...load up on elite talent because that's how Alabama and Clemson are who they are.
There “isn’t any question that the corners we have taken . . . won’t be ready for a year or two . . . .” Unless they turn out to be like Julian Love, who despite being a 3* recruit made an immediate impact with ND. I get what your are saying, but sometimes players exceed expectation, and the question of how any recruit will perform and on what time table are open questions.
We've had a number of great ones.
